LSB Round 9 (Regular Season): ARBA is defeated by Escazu in a derby game

LSB is at the halfway of the Regular Season and there are still another 9 rounds left. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from San Jose: Escazu (#2) and ARBA (#3). ARBA was crushed at home by 18 points 61-79 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of ARBA. Escazu maintains second place with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader Abogados. ARBA at the other side dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Jaguars. Escazu are looking forward to face Metropoli (#8) in Cartago in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ARBA will play at home against Puntarenas (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from San Jose: Abogados (#1) and Roswell (#8). Abogados (8-0) won against visiting Roswell (2-6) 68-57. Undefeated Abogados have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Roswell at the other side dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Metropoli. Abogados will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Roswell will play at home against Limon Sh. (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Grecia managed to get a third victory, breaking the series of two consecutive losses on Sunday night. This time they won against sixth-ranked Limon Sh. 75-67. Grecia (3-6) moved-up to seventh place. Loser Limon Sh. keeps the sixth position with five games lost. Grecia will meet at home higher ranked Jaguars (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Limon Sh. will play against Roswell in San Jose and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 9 Metropoli lost to Jaguars on the opponent's court 73-79.



ARBA - Escazu 61-79

Loser Metropoli dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Roswell. Jaguars will meet Grecia (#7) on the road in the next round. Metropoli will play against the league's second-placed Escazu in San Jose and hope to secure a win.

Abogados - Roswell 68-57
